Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring Add gradually to achieve desired color.

Mix-ins

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the red food coloring and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, followed by the cocoa powder and white chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set. The centers should look soft.
  • Let the cookies cool on the sheets before transferring them to wire racks.

Notes

For best results, avoid overmixing the batter, chill the dough before baking, and consider adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for added flavor.
