For the Green Beans

  • 1 tbsp butter for green beans
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

For the Mac and Cheese

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 tbsp butter for mac and cheese
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt for mac and cheese
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper for mac and cheese

Instructions

Preparation

  • Rub chicken with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper on chicken and coat well.

Cooking the Chicken

  • Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until browned and fully cooked. Set aside.
  • In a small saucepan, melt butter, then mix with barbecue sauce and honey.
  • Brush the glaze over the cooked chicken, letting it caramelize slightly over low heat.

Mac and Cheese

  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add elbow macaroni. Cook until tender, then drain.
  • In another saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and whisk in flour to create a roux.
  • Slowly add in milk, stirring constantly until smooth.
  • Add salt and black pepper; stir in cheese until melted.
  • Fold in cooked macaroni until combined.

Cooking the Green Beans

  • In a skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for about a minute until fragrant.
  • Add green beans and cook for about 5 minutes until tender-crisp. Season with salt and black pepper.

Final Assembly

  • Plate the mac and cheese, add sautéed green beans alongside, and top with glazed chicken.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the chicken; use a meat thermometer for doneness. Feel free to adjust seasoning to taste if desired.
