  • 1 lb turkey sausage, sliced Keeps the dish light while adding flavor.
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced Don't overcook to avoid dryness.
  • 12 oz rotini or penne pasta Your choice of pasta.
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream Adds creamy texture.
  • 1.5 cups shredded pepper jack cheese Provides the zesty flavor.
  • 0.5 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook sliced turkey sausage until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the chicken, onion, and garlic. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper, and cook until chicken is fully cooked, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain.

Cooking

  • Return sausage to the skillet with chicken, and pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, bringing it to a gentle simmer.
  • Reduce heat, add pepper jack and parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  • Add cooked pasta, tossing until fully coated. Garnish with parsley before serving warm.
