Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef This is the backbone of your meal, providing that hearty protein.
  • 12 oz spaghetti A classic pasta choice that blends well with the sauce.
  • 6 tbsp butter, divided Adds richness and depth to the flavor.
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced Because more garlic makes everything better!
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream This is what gives you that glorious creaminess.
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese Adds a sharp bite.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Provides stretchiness in the dish.
  • 0.5 cup grated parmesan cheese Brings an extra savory note.
  • 1 tsp dried oregano Brings an aromatic flavor that ties everything together.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder For an extra garlic flavor!
  • Salt and black pepper to taste Essential for flavor enhancement.
  • 0.5 cup reserved pasta water Helps adjust the sauce's consistency.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by bringing a pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add in your spaghetti and cook until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
  • Before draining the pasta, scoop out half a cup of starchy pasta water.
  • In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add in the ground beef and cook until nicely browned.
  • Once the beef is browned, stir in the oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another couple of minutes.
  • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium, add the remaining butter, and then toss in the minced garlic until fragrant—about 30 seconds.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for about 2 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  • Lower the heat and mix in the cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses until fully melted and smooth.
  • If the sauce seems too thick, add some reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Toss the cooked spaghetti in the sauce, coating it well.
  • Finally, fold in the cooked beef gently.
  • Serve and enjoy hot, optionally topping with extra parmesan.

Notes

Refrigerate leftovers for up to three days. Add milk or pasta water when reheating to maintain creaminess. You can make the sauce ahead and keep it in the fridge for up to two days or freeze it for three months.
